Color Monte
The magician explains how he was swindled gambling on a street corner. He shows three cards. Two cards have red spots and one has a blue spot. If you can guess where the blue card is you get a dollar if you are wrong you lose a dollar.
He shows the blue card on top. He turns it face down and places it on the bottom. He shows the bottom card, its a red one. He shows the top card, its red. He shows the middle one, its red too. No matter what he guessed he was always wrong. Before long, he'd lost seven dollars. He then tells us how the swindler asked him to go double or nothing if he could guess the color of the last card in his hand. The magician guessed red and blue. The swindler showed him the last card which is green and says "you owe me fourteen dollars".Some simple sleight-of-hand and some practice is required but it's well worth the effort. Invisible Deck
The magician presents an imaginary deck of cards to a spectator. He asks them to shuffle the imaginary cards, then he asks them to select one of the imaginary cards and memorize it. The magician then shows a real deck of cards and produces the selected card as the only face down card in the face up deck. Very simple, can be learned in a few minutes. Insurance Policy
A card is selected, shown to all those present except the magician and returned to the deck, which is shuffled thoroughly. The magician then makes several "wrong guesses" about the card chosen. In frustration, he produces an INSURANCE POLICY and explains its purpose and "Conditions". The policy is opened fully to reveal a beautiful color reproduction of the selected card! Split Deck
The magician displays a deck of cards that have been sliced in half diagonally. He takes one half of the deck and asks one spectator to select one card. He then takes the other half, and asks another spectator to select another card from the deck. When the cards are brought together they match a miracle! Very simple, can be learned in a few minutes.
